Licensing classes are scheduled several times per year and will be listed here as scheduled. Technician and General classes are on three consecutive Saturdays. Extra classes take eight consecutive Saturdays. Find a class here on the ARRL web site.
Exam sessions are available at the completion of the courses. The class is free but there is a $15 fee for the FCC exam, payable at the session.
Elden Morris is a BSA Radio Merit Badge Counselor in the Atlanta Area Council. If your troop wants a Radio Merit Badge Class, please contact him to make arrangements. He requires a minimum of 10 students and one adult leader to qualify for BSA Youth Protection two deep leadership. Classes can be scheduled at your location and will take a full day. Elden can also have a class that combines Amateur Radio Licensing and Radio Merit Badge. The combined session will take three days and have an exam session at the conclusion. please see requirements for manuals above under Classes and Testing Exams.
There are radio Merit Badge Classes scheduled several times per year. Those classes are listed on www.meritbadge.info.
Most clinics are conducted by Troop 1776 in the Foothills District, Atlanta Area Council. Currently, Elden Morris will be at Troop 1776 for a merit badge class on Saturday, August 15. These classes will be held at the Catholic Church of St Ann, 4905 Roswell Road, Marietta, GA 30062. Please contact Troop 1776 for more information on classes available or to register. (There are no walk- ins allowed)
